About Gra(y)ce

Welcome to my blog. 

It exists because I love to write. As the blog has grown, I have felt the need to find (and FINALLY figured out) a way to organize it. Thus, the tabs along the top.  

Let me quickly run through a summary of what you will find in each. Some posts fall into more than one category, so there are repeats.

The Fight of (Life): Posts about everything God teaches me through life.

T(ra)vel: Posts about my travels, and the trials of being away from 

people I love.

Every(day): Just observances (usually short) about my life, everyday. Encompassing the past almost three years that the blog has been up.

(Fam)ily: Mine is rather large, and I adore them, and write on them, 

not as much as I could.

Writin(g): Specifically looking at post-grad continuing education and challenges I give myself.

Colle(g)e: Posts from, on and during my two years at 

University of North Carolina - Greensboro

Just for (Fun): Random fictionalized, or embellished pieces.

Gra(y)ce: 

This one will assemble slowly. You could think of it as a "Best Of..." 

Not of my most read, but of the pieces that I like the best, for whatever reason. 

The final thing to tell you is about the blog title itself and I will do that with an excerpt from a blog posted when I gave the blog it's name.

 ...I started (the blog) with a focus on the process of my transfer to school - (Potato Salad and Aristotle or Steve's Friendly BP), then at one point considered a focus on the people in my life in general (Dear Little Sister or To My Group) and then I came to realize that my life does not have one specific focus like that. I have experiences and I have the people that make them. I have knowledge and the process of learning. What binds the people and aspects of my life together are two things: myself (I can't experience my life without me, as schizophrenic as that sounds) and God. Somewhere in the past few months, most likely a more boring class, I discovered that if you insert a "ce" into my last name, phonetically it becomes the word "grace". Grace is central to my being. Without it I would be damned and have no life. Granted there are lots of other aspects of God that I live off of, but Grace is one that is very close to being overarching concept - it is one thing that really sets God apart from other religions. As such in trying to figure out a new more general name for my blog I decided on simply, Gra(y)ce. This encompasses myself, Gray, and what makes me, creates me and drives me, God/Grace.
